What preparations are needed when using coated composite pipes?

Before installing the coated composite piping, the following conditions must be met: all relevant technical documents, such as construction drawings, must be complete; technical briefing must have been conducted; the appearance of the coated pipes and accessories required for installation must be inspected; and the product certificates, specifications, models, types, and quantities must be verified.

Construction personnel should be familiar with the performance of plastic-coated composite pipe fittings and relevant technical documentation, and master basic operational skills. The following construction tools are recommended for working with plastic-coated steel pipes: a metal saw for cutting; a dedicated grooving machine for creating grooves; a pipe bender for cold bending; an electric threading machine for machining pipe threads; a steel blade for deburring and chamfering pipe ends; and a small brush or toothbrush for applying high-strength, solvent-free liquid epoxy resin coatings.
Grooved Connection for Coated Composite Pipes: Pipe fittings shall meet the requirements of the pipe trench standards. Coated composite pipes used for installation must comply with the product standards. Before coating, grooving must be performed. The working pressure of grooved fittings for coated composite pipes should match that of coated steel pipes. For hot-water transmission applications, grooved fittings shall be equipped with heat-resistant rubber sealing rings.
During the beveling of coated composite pipes and on-site installation, construction shall comply with the following requirements: It is preferable to use prefabricated coated steel pipes equipped with beveled joints. The length of the pipe sections to be connected should be the net length at both ends minus 6–8 millimeters, with a joint gap of 3–4 millimeters. When cutting the pipes, the cross-section must be perpendicular to the pipe axis; allowable deviations are as follows: For pipe diameters not exceeding 100 mm, the deviation shall not exceed 1 mm; for diameters greater than 125 mm, the deviation shall not exceed 1.5 mm.
The sharp corners on the inner and outer walls of the end sections of coated composite pipes shall be smooth. When using a dedicated grooving machine to create grooves, the reference roller for the coated steel pipe used for grooving should be set at 90°. The depth and width of the bevel shall meet the requirements specified in the CJ/T156-2001 standard. After grooving the coated composite pipe, both the bevel and the end face must be thoroughly cleaned, and the degree of rust removal must comply with the relevant requirements.
The overlapping areas of the inner and outer coatings should be roughened with sandpaper to remove any flaking coating, dust, and oil contamination. The nozzle and groove end faces shall be coated with a high-strength, solvent-free epoxy resin paint, with a thickness of no less than 0.5 millimeters. Before installation, the coating must be allowed to dry and cure naturally (recommended: 24 hours). The end face of the plastic-coated composite pipe that comes into contact with the rubber sealing ring on the outer wall shall be smooth and free from scratches or burrs that could compromise the sealing performance of the rubber sealing ring.
The socket connection for coated composite pipes shall be carried out according to the following procedure: Fit the rubber sealing ring onto the coated steel pipe, apply lubricant to the end of the pipe section, and then put on the cap. Reinstall the other mating section, adjust the rubber sealing ring to the center of the connecting section, place the clamp outside the rubber sealing ring, and insert the edge of the clamp into the groove. Insert the bolts into the bolt holes and tighten the nuts alternately.
