  The same applies to coated composite pipes—these tools must be used in accordance with the correct connection procedures. To ensure that the joints of pipelines made from plastic-coated composite steel pipes remain corrosion-free, the connections between pipes and fittings must be fabricated from the original raw material strips. Moreover, when cutting steel pipes, everyone must pay close attention: gas cutting is absolutely inappropriate. The best method is to use the dedicated wire-cutting tool—not to cut directly.

  (1) For steel pipes with both internal and external plastic coatings, first weld flanges onto both ends of the steel pipe. The flanges should be welded securely, then coated with polyethylene. During installation, place a gasket between the two flanges of the coated composite pipe and tighten them using bolts.

  (2) To ensure that internally and externally coated pipes do not axially shift under pressure or water hammer, they should be properly fixed using supports such as piers, brackets, and hangers. When installing these fixings, it is important to consider that the pipe should remain stationary even when subjected to swinging and bending under pressure. For pipes installed vertically, the distance between two fixing points should not exceed 2 meters. For horizontally installed pipes, the distance between two fixing points should not exceed the nominal outer diameter of the coated composite pipe if the nominal outer diameter is less than 750 millimeters; if the nominal outer diameter is 76 millimeters or greater, the distance between fixing points should not exceed 1,100 millimeters.

  (3) When internally and externally coated steel pipes are fixed using cement or brick piers, the pipes can be embedded within the piers. When supports, brackets, and hangers are used for fixing, U-shaped or other types of pipe clamps must be installed in the pipes or fittings.
