Many people doubt the corrosion resistance of 3PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes and 2PE elbow anti-corrosion steel pipes. However, once you understand the manufacturing technologies behind these pipes, you’ll realize that both 3PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes and 2PE elbow anti-corrosion steel pipes have just as good corrosion resistance as conventional anti-corrosion steel pipes.

Many people doubt the corrosion resistance of 3PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes and 2PE elbow anti-corrosion steel pipes. However, once you understand the manufacturing technologies behind these pipes, you’ll realize that both 3PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes and 2PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes have just as good corrosion resistance as conventional anti-corrosion steel pipes. The seemingly complicated appearance of 3PE bent pipe anti-corrosion steel pipes stems from the fact that the anti-corrosion treatment for both types is carried out on specialized equipment—equipment that simply cannot accommodate the construction requirements of pipe bends. Generally speaking, only straight pipes can be processed using such equipment. As for applying 3PE or 2PE anti-corrosion coatings to bent pipes, the typical solution is as follows:

Previously, the straight pipes were first treated with anti-corrosion coating, and then the coated straight pipes were bent into elbows using a bending machine. Although this method is said to be feasible, it is rarely employed due to the complexity of construction techniques and the technical challenges involved.

Later, heat-shrinkable tapes were used for corrosion protection, replacing the original corrosion protection technology.

Currently, polyethylene adhesive tapes or polypropylene-reinforced fiber anti-corrosion tapes are being used for corrosion protection, replacing the previous anti-corrosion technologies.

When replacing one anti-corrosion technology with another, please pay attention to any requirements that the client or the design party may have for the new anti-corrosion technology. However, from the perspective of anti-corrosion performance, no matter which anti-corrosion technology is chosen—as long as it is applied appropriately—it can meet the product’s anti-corrosion requirements.
