The coating surfaces of plastic-coated steel pipes are smooth, uniform, free of dark bubbles and pinholes. Fire-resistant plastic-coated steel pipes come in various diameters, and naturally, the pressure they can withstand also varies. We select the appropriate connection method based on the specific pressure rating of each pipe. A key reason why plastic-coated steel pipes have gained widespread acceptance is that they combine the advantages of both ordinary steel pipes and plastic-coated pipes, creating a new type of steel pipe with unique properties of its own.
Plastic-coated steel pipe The coated surfaces are all smooth, uniform, free of dark bubbles and pinholes. Fire-resistant plastic-coated steel pipes come in various diameters, and naturally, the pressure they can withstand also varies. A key reason why plastic-coated steel pipes have gained widespread acceptance is that they combine the advantages of both ordinary steel pipes and plastic-coated pipes, creating a new type of steel pipe with unique and distinctive properties.
Steel-plastic composite pipes come in many varieties and can be classified according to their structural composition: steel strip-reinforced steel-plastic composite pipes, seamless reinforced steel-plastic composite pipes, perforated mesh steel strip steel-plastic composite pipes, and steel wire mesh skeleton steel-plastic composite pipes. Additionally, there are also plastic-coated steel pipes and plastic-lined steel pipes.
Currently, the most commonly used pipe types on the market are steel wire mesh-reinforced plastic composite pipes and coated steel pipes. Steel wire mesh-reinforced plastic composite pipes are often referred to as steel-plastic composite pressure pipes. In these pipes, the middle layer consists of a high-carbon steel strip formed by rolling, inner shaping, and butt welding into a continuous steel band. Both the inner and outer layers are made of high-density polyethylene. Because the middle layer is composed of a steel band, these pipes exhibit excellent pressure-bearing performance. Moreover, since the steel band in the middle layer is tightly sealed, these steel-plastic pipes also provide effective oxygen-barrier protection, making them suitable for direct drinking water projects. At the same time, the inner and outer layers are made of plastic materials, offering outstanding corrosion resistance. The other type is coated steel pipe, which is manufactured by applying epoxy resin coatings both internally and externally. The resulting steel pipes are exceptionally smooth and aesthetically pleasing. The base material for these pipes can be seamless steel pipes, welded pipes, or spiral pipes; the raw materials are encased within the inner and outer coating layers, providing excellent corrosion resistance. Coated steel pipes have also been listed as meeting the standards for potable water supply. Compared with steel-plastic composite pressure pipes, coated steel pipes have lower costs but deliver comparable performance. As a result, customers have a wide range of options to choose from.
