Removing rust from coated steel pipes: Primarily, steel wire brushes and other equipment are used to polish the steel surface, effectively removing loose or raised oxide scale, rust, and welding slag. Manual equipment achieves a Sa2 grade of surface preparation, while power-driven equipment can attain a Sa3 grade. However, if the steel surface is covered with solid iron oxide flakes, the results of mechanical cleaning cannot be guaranteed, and it will be impossible to achieve the anchor profile depth required for corrosion-resistant structures.

  Solvents and emulsifiers are used to clean steel surfaces by removing oil, grease, dust, lubricants, and similar organic substances. However, they cannot remove rust, oxide scale, flux residues, or the like. Therefore, they can only serve as auxiliary tools in the production of coated steel pipes.

It is recommended to remove oxide scale, rust, and old coatings; sometimes it can also serve as a post-treatment following sandblasting and rust removal. Chemical cleaning can achieve the desired cleanliness and surface roughness, but its anchor cable is relatively shallow and it tends to pollute the environment.

  Spray Rust Removal for Plastic-Coated Steel Pipes: Spray rust removal involves the high-speed rotation of large-power motor blades at the initial stage. Under the action of centrifugal force, sand steel, steel balls, wire segments, minerals, and other abrasives are then sprayed onto both the inner and outer surfaces of the plastic-coated steel pipes. This process not only completely removes rust, oxides, and dirt but also subjects the inner and outer surfaces of the plastic-coated steel pipes to intense impact and friction from the abrasive materials, thereby achieving the desired uniformity and roughness.
