Product Description
Epoxy-resin-lined corrosion-resistant steel pipe
Production and processing range: φDN80–ΦDN1800
2PE/3PE Anti-Corrosion Structure: An epoxy powder is electrostatically sprayed onto the surface of the steel pipe, followed by lateral wrapping with an adhesive and lateral wrapping with a polyethylene anti-corrosion layer. By combining the excellent properties of these three components, the overall quality of the anti-corrosion pipeline is significantly enhanced. This structure exhibits outstanding resistance to chemical corrosion, resistance to cathodic disbondment, and resistance to mechanical damage.
Before applying the anti-corrosion treatment, the base material of 2PE/3PE coated steel pipes must undergo inspection and recording upon entering the pipe handling platform. The outer surface of the steel pipe is then blast-cleaned to remove rust. Next, the cleanliness and anchor profile depth of the pipe’s outer surface are checked to ensure they meet the specified requirements. If they do not meet the requirements, the affected areas are carefully sanded with a handheld grinding wheel until they pass inspection. Tape is wrapped around the pipe ends, followed by dust removal. The pipe is then heated using medium-frequency induction to reach the required temperature. Epoxy powder is subsequently sprayed onto the pipe surface, while adhesive is extruded and applied along the side of the pipe using an adhesive extruder. The coated pipe is cooled in water, and qualified products are marked with identification labels before being transferred to the pipe-handling platform for stacking and preparation for shipment.
The applications of 3PE-coated steel pipes are extremely broad, making them suitable for various pipeline systems including underground water supply and drainage in coal mines, underground grouting, positive and negative pressure ventilation, gas extraction and drainage, fire-fighting sprinkling, and more. They are also ideal for conveying waste residues and return water in thermal power plants. These pipes exhibit outstanding performance when used as water supply lines in spray and sprinkler systems. Additionally, they serve as protective conduits for cables in power, telecommunications, and highway projects. They are widely employed in high-rise building water supply systems, district heating networks, municipal water supply projects, gas transmission pipelines, and underground water pipelines. Furthermore, they are utilized in process pipelines that convey corrosive media in industries such as oil transportation, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and textile dyeing. They are also applied in wastewater treatment and discharge systems, sewage pipelines, and anti-corrosion projects for biological treatment ponds. Other applications include agricultural irrigation networks, deep-well pipes, drainage systems, and numerous other uses. It can be said that 3PE-coated steel pipes have become indispensable in today’s construction projects, and with the continued advancement of technology, we believe they will achieve even greater success in the future.
A coating formulated by using epoxy resin as the film-forming substance and incorporating a certain amount of pigments, fillers, additives, solvents, and other components is referred to as an epoxy resin anti-corrosion coating. Due to the presence of highly polar hydroxyl groups and ether linkages in the molecular structure of epoxy resin, the resulting coating film exhibits excellent chemical resistance, particularly good alkali resistance and even better resistance to hot alkaline media. Moreover, since its structure features alternating arrangements of rigid benzene rings and aliphatic hydrocarbon chains with terminal functional groups, the coating film also demonstrates outstanding physical and mechanical properties. The presence of polar functional groups imparts a certain degree of hydrophilicity to the coating film; however, with appropriate formulation selection, it is possible to achieve coatings with excellent water resistance. There are many varieties of epoxy resin anti-corrosion coatings available, among which amine-based or their derivative-cured epoxy coatings and asphalt-modified epoxy anti-corrosion coatings are widely used. In recent years, solvent-free epoxy resin anti-corrosion coatings have begun to find application, and water-emulsion-type epoxy resin anti-corrosion coatings hold great promise for future development.
After curing, it exhibits excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, superior electrical performance, and outstanding thermal stability.
