High-density polyethylene thermal insulation outer casing: Production and processing range φDN20—ΦDN2400

The high-density polyethylene protective layer is pre-manufactured into black (or yellow) plastic pipes of a specified wall thickness and is reserved after undergoing corona treatment. Its functions are twofold: first, to protect the polyurethane insulation layer from damage caused by mechanical hard objects; second, to provide corrosion and water resistance.

1. In the manufacture of polyethylene jacketed pipes, the outer casing should be added with antioxidants, ultraviolet stabilizers, and carbon black, among other additives.
2. The wall thickness of polyethylene jacketed pipes is adjustable; both the wall thickness and color can be customized according to customer requirements. Since the wall thickness varies among different pipe models, the insulation layer thickness provided is approximate and should be calculated based on the actual wall thickness.
3. All necessary components are included, such as brackets, plastic plugs, flange plates at both ends, welding rods, welding torches, heat-shrink sleeves, and more.
4. Polyethylene jacketed pipes are prone to aging. If stored outdoors, they should be covered with tarpaulins or similar materials. The storage area should be kept away from high-temperature sources and ignition sources. Once the pipes have been fabricated into insulated pipes, exposure to intense sunlight and sudden temperature changes must be strictly avoided, as this can easily cause cracking in the polyethylene pipe, thereby compromising product performance and service life.
5. During the transportation and installation of polyethylene jacketed pipes, avoid rough handling, using hooks that are too thin, too rigid, or applying excessive force. Otherwise, the polyethylene pipe may easily be damaged, scratched, or torn.

As such, the three-layer PE coating has become the leading direction for the future development of external anti-corrosion coatings for pipelines. Applications: The product is widely used in oil pipelines, natural gas pipelines, heating pipelines, and water supply pipelines. Application Scope: Currently, China has not yet established an industry standard for 3PP coatings. Therefore, the 3PP anti-corrosion pipelines produced generally follow the German standard DIN30678 “Polypropylene Coatings for Steel Pipelines.” The 3PP coating is primarily used as an anti-corrosion layer for pipelines transporting media at relatively high temperatures, as well as for pipelines located in desert regions characterized by high surface temperatures and prolonged sunlight exposure. Consequently, it has gained increasingly widespread application on buried water, gas, and oil pipelines in areas with high surface temperatures and long periods of sunlight.
